Nikon D3100 Red
Nikon just announced its entry level model D3100 in... red.
Mhm interesting but I'm afraid that it won't match my purse so I played in a Photoshop a bit and created few other versions. Which one would you choose? :-)

Breaking news :-)
October wasn't too productive month for me but few things came along together. I was away for few days, my camera broke down, my hamster died ;-) Yes, I know... loads of excuses but now it's all about to change...
I bought a new camera! I'm a happy owner of a brand new Nikon D300s. I've been testing it for the last few days and for now I can only say it's fantastic! Not a big surprise as a D300s model is well known, tested and reliable camera. Unfortunately I didn't have time to write anything about choosing new camera but I'll definitely write few words when we know each other a bit better :-) Anyway lots of new photos coming because...
...I'm flying to Tokyo on Saturday. I even prepared new header image for this occasion :-) I'm going to blog live from Japan for the next 2 weeks (starting on Sunday). I'll try to post at least once for 2 days so visit my blog daily.
By the way please don't ask me what Japanese characters in the header mean. However if you are from Japan you can translate it for me. Hopefully it's nothing offensive ;-)

What's going on?
I haven't been blogging for a week now however few things happened since my last post. Some good and some bad ones.
The bad is that my camera is broken :( Yup, I'll save you details but something is wrong with a viewfinder. All is blurry when you look through it. I've just sent it to Nikon and I have to wait...
But I can't wait to long because on 6th of November I'm going to Japan for my holidays! Which is a really gooood thing. I can't wait and I'll definitely write something more about that in the next few days.
So the another good thing is I'm probably going to buy a new camera. Although I don't want to do that so badly ;-) I have no choice There's no sense to go to Japan without it! Actually this is the main reason I'm going there :-)
Honestly I wanted to get myself a new camera anyway but maybe just not now. Anyway it's going to speed up the process. So I'll keep you posted which camera and why I'm going to buy. Probably I'll do it in the same way as I did with the wide angle lens. If you haven't read about it you can take a look at these posts:

Meanwhile I will fill the blog gap with some photos taken few months back, some Photoshop tips and things like that.

Nikon D7000 promotional video
Is it only my impression that new Nikon D7000 promo looks like mid 90s TV shopping commercial? :-)

Nikon D7000
Yesterday new Nikon D7000 has been announced. Looks like it's going to be a really good camera. I was thinking about buying Nikon D300s but now I'll hold on for a while, wait for some reviews and then decide.

Nikon D3100
If you haven't heard already new Nikon D3100 has been confirmed. It's a really interesting option for those of you who's thinking about buying first DSLR camera. It's the smallest and the lightest Nikon yet. It has 14,2 megapixels, live view mode and can record HD (1920x1080) video. The price is £499,99 for body only and £579,99 with kit lens.

Sigma review
I'm not a photo equipment expert so instead of writing standard review (which you'll easily find in photo magazines or websites) I'll just write down what I like and don't in Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 lens.
What's good:
What's not:
Basically I really enjoy shooting with new Sigma lens. It's definitely a great choice for those who can't afford or don't want to spend too much money (Nikon or Canon lenses) on a wide angle. Anyway wide angle (especially so wide like Sigma 10-20) is a must have.
What's good:
- super wide angle (actually you can't get any wider) and 10-20mm zoom flexibility
- constant aperture of 3.5 which is really decent light
- contains HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) thanks to which it works really fast and quietly
- good autofocus
- distortion is fairly small
- didn't spot big vignetting (read about that in some reviews)
- really well done and not too heavy at the same time
What's not:
- it could be sharper but it's not too bad. Slight sharpening in Photoshop does the job.
- lens hood attachment is done really bad so the hood just slips off. I almost lost it twice... thanks to the people who pick it up and gave back to me! :-)
- filter size is 82mm so it's very expensive (yes, I knew it before buying)
